Every organisation is
asking the wrong
question about AI.

They're asking what tools should we implement?
The better question — the one most leaders
aren't yet asking — is what kind of leader
do I need to become?

"Most organisations are treating AI as a
technology implementation problem.
It isn't. It is a complexity leadership problem
and that changes everything about how you approach it."

The Emergence Collective · Founding Thesis

The challenge

You're leading through
genuinely new territory.

You were promoted — or built your organisation — by being excellent at solving complicated problems. But the challenge of AI is not complicated. It is complex. Unpredictable. Interdependent. Moving faster than any strategic plan can accommodate.

And you're navigating it largely alone. Your board wants certainty you don't have. Your team is anxious in ways they're not telling you. And the gap between understanding enough to lead well and becoming a technologist is one nobody has clearly mapped for you.

That is the gap The Emergence Collective is designed to close.

Sound familiar?

  • You're being asked for an AI strategy but haven't yet built the mental model to know what a good one looks like
  • Your people are either anxious about being replaced or quietly using AI tools you don't know about
  • You know you need to act, but every decision feels like it could either unlock or undermine what you've built
  • You don't have a peer group who understands both the leadership complexity and the AI reality at the same time
  • The pace of change is relentless and you're not sure your current approach to leading will be enough

How it works

A structured
practice community.

This is not a mastermind group and it is not a training programme. Every session is built around live cases members bring from their own organisations — leaving with real decisions, concrete actions, and genuine peer accountability. The monthly theme gives the year intellectual coherence. Your facilitation gives the room what a peer group alone cannot.

Monthly · In Person

Half-day in person

Theme provocation, live case-work with peer challenge, and monthly commitments. Sydney CBD. Same structure every month — the ritual becomes the culture.

Mid-month · Virtual

90-min virtual session

Commitment accountability, live problem-solving on real current challenges, and thread-pulling into the next in-person session. The engine of between-session momentum.

Quarterly · Private

Optional 1:1 check-in

A private 45-minute conversation to step back from the group and review your own arc — the things you're not yet ready to bring to peers, and what you need most from the community.

The year

A six-month
learning arc.

The programme is designed as a progressive six-month journey — from honestly mapping where you are, through building the knowledge and mindset to lead well, to the harder questions of culture, trust and redesigning work. Each month's theme connects to the next. The arc has a shape and a destination.

01Mapping the territoryWhere are we starting from, honestly — as leaders, teams and organisations?
02Understanding the AI landscapeHow do I build enough knowledge to decide well — without becoming a technologist?
03Leading without the answerWhat does credible leadership look like when the leader is also learning?
04Culture, trust and what's unsaidWhat are my people not telling me about how they feel about AI, and why?
05Redesigning work — what stays humanHow do I decide what to automate, augment, or keep entirely human?
06Year-end synthesis and the road aheadWhat did I come in not knowing — and what question am I taking forward?

Who this is for

Built for leaders
carrying real weight.

The Emergence Collective is for CEOs, MDs and General Managers of mid to large size organisations. Not leaders waiting for permission to act — leaders with genuine accountability, genuine complexity, and a genuine desire to think better, not just work harder.

You don't need to understand AI deeply. You need to lead well through it. If any of these feel uncomfortably familiar, this community was built for you.

  • You're at an inflection point where what got you here may not get you there
  • You want a peer group that challenges you, not just validates you
  • You're intellectually curious and willing to admit when you're wrong in a trusted room
  • You sense AI is a leadership problem as much as a technology problem
  • You want to leave each session with decisions and actions, not just insights

Your facilitator

Practitioner.
Not pundit.

30 years at the intersection of
performance, culture and complexity

  • Complexity leadership development designer, consultant and facilitator
  • Founder of two paid communities of practice in Knowledge Management and Learning Organisations
  • Implemented a ground-breaking performance management system for a 20,000-person organisation
  • Pioneer in culture change, organisational development consulting and building learning organisations
  • National Manager (Commonwealth) — fraud prevention redesign of division
  • Detective, Australian Federal Police

The Emergence Collective is not a peer group with a moderator. It is a structured practice community with a practitioner at the centre — someone who has spent three decades working at the intersection of the very things your organisation is grappling with right now.

That means you get something most peer groups cannot offer: a facilitator who can see things in a live case that peers alone will miss. Who can hold the complexity framework and the AI reality in the same conversation. Who has led large-scale organisational change, navigated governance and integrity challenges, and built communities of practice that actually worked — because they were built on rigour, not goodwill.

The gift is not expertise in AI. It is expertise in how organisations and leaders navigate complex, unfamiliar, high-stakes territory — and AI is the most vivid example of that right now.

Known for her ability to take genuinely difficult ideas, simplify them without losing their integrity, and help leaders understand not just what something means — but what to do with it back in their own organisations.
